Noumea and Surrounding

Noumea, New-Caledonia capital permits to enjoy the Caledonia weather, enjoying beaches. I also snorkeled for the first time in Ilot Canard where I notably saw my first turtle. That was unbelievable!!

To rally this islet, it is possible to take a boat but also to rend a paddle which is better to enjoy the transparent water.

The surroundings are just as exotics as:

- The Yaté dam: Impressive dam by it capacity of 315 millions m3, there is also the possibility to swim downstream. Indeed, after a few kilometers trek, we arrive to a translucent water . There is also some jumps  and we can spot fishes.

- Old-growth forest: The forest close to Yaté is a almost unchanged forest regards to it origin. Thus, it vegetation is particular and many scientists in all over the world came to study it.

- Bourail (Poé & Turtles Bay): Dynamic cultural center, I could enjoy one day in the turtle bay to picnic and to see the Poé beach. In Poé, it's possible to swim during kilometers abling the touch the bottom. Unfortunatly, one month before, a shark killed one person. Moreover, the weather was not really good so we didn't stay long.

- Koghi Mount: This trek in the forest interspresed if watercourses permits to climb and to enjoy a top view of Nouméa. This hike was the most pleasant that I had in New-Caledonia.

- Ilot Goéland: We crossed the turquoise water in the ocean with a jet-ski until this little peace of sand on the middle of the ocean. That was amzing due to the clear water, the human void and for the crossing. A thousands thanks to Amandine!!

- Les 3 marmites in Dumbéa: Many treks of different sizes were possible along the forest and the watercourse. Here again, the water was transparent and was many the most pure that I have ever seen. We bathed at the end of the trek, jumping from rocks.
