Ayers Rock (Uluru)

A big rock, colors and... that's it!

It was the first destination of our road trip and we reached it after 2500 km. However, we didn't spend to much time in this national park. Indeed,  aside from Uluru and Mount Olga where it's possible to trek, there is absolutely nothing to do except admiring the aboriginal art which wasn't really our liking.

After careful consideration, we decided to climb the top of Uluru. Some will see a lack of respect because of the signification for them but we don't have regrets. The climbing was hard due to the drop of 70% and a strong sun. But the view from the top  where we were able to see the endless desert and the Mount Olga was amazing.

After this climbing, we made a barbecue in front of the rock and enjoyed a fresh beer. Then, we looked after the best emplacement to admire the long-awaited sunset. We contemplated the different colors longer than one hour (check pictures).

The next morning, around 5 am, we put tablets and chairs in front of Uluru and we made coffee to enjoy the sky color shade during the sunrise. Colors were sensational.
