The journey Cairns-Uluru took place over 1 week and really started in Townsvile where we passed few days. The  3000 kms separating them was predominately a desert.

We were driving all days long and we had to stopped at the nightfall to don't hit kangaroos or cows. During the night, we enjoyed an amazing sky with the milky way visible as never before and manifold falling stars.

One hour from Cairns and after passed the rainforest, there is Mareeba and Atherton. The region of Tablelands give a tropical climate and while it almost never rain in Mareeba, it rain the majority of the time in Atherton even if these 2 cities are 15 minutes away from each other.

This region is composed with several waterfalls to enjoying hot days, many walks on hills, a lake developed on a old volcano and with many other stuffs.

We also can find hundreds of farms which are growing mangoes, bananas, lemons, avocados, coffee beans, berries,... and it's why the Tablelands is the place to go if your are looking for a farm-work job.

Starting point for Magnetic Island, Townsville is peaceful with the path lining the beach and with many fitting out as barbecues or seawater pool to enjoy the sun.

Even if the climate is really hot, there is a big nice breeze from 5 p.m which one is refreshing and permit to support the daily 35°c during summertime. However, there is deadly jellyfishes  so you can't swim if you want to stay alive. Fortunately there are protection nets in few places where you can swim safely.

Seaside resort, Mission Beach is mostly for Australians who would like to fish or enjoying the beach during few days for holiday.

Unfortunately, there are crocs everywhere on the water so it's better to don't swim except if you wanna die.

Thankfully, The Dunk Island is 15 minutes away with the ferry and it gives you the opportunity to see beautiful landscapes, to bathe without any risks and to snorkel.

Located along the great barrier reef, Cairns is THE city to see the reef and for this reason is really touristic.

Little city, the beauty of Cairns can be summary, for me, with the esplanade where you can find free barbecues and where some events are organised.

As many other cities in OZ, there is many crocodiles and consequently you can't go on the beach. Thus you need to drive few kilometers to be able to find a less risk beach.

The way was long and interspersed of small villages every 200 kilometers with a gas station (petrol station for you EN or OZ guys).

Landscapes changed step by step of color. Deeper we went on the bush, redder the soil became.

However, we were really surprised to find that much vegetation rutted the roads.

Sunsets, sunrises and staring skies will stay the most amazing experiences offered to us on this trip.
